Celso gifts Tictapul, Licomo with P7.2M projects
Mayor Celso Lobregat over the weekend stormed Tictapul and Licomo, two far flung barangays in the east coast to turn over four projects amounting to P7.2 million.
In Tictapul, the mayor, along with Councilors Cesar Iturralde, Rudy Lim and Eddie Saavedra, inaugurated a farm to market road project costing P1.4 million, which is only one of the 17 projects either completed, bidded out or up for bidding from 2007-2009.
The mayor’s visit to Tictapul Friday was a two-in one affair, as he was also the guest of honor and speaker in the foundation day of the Tictapul National High School, which is one of the numerous secondary schools established through laws authored by Lobregat when he was still the city’s lone representative in Congress.
Tictapul barangay officials led by Kahal Bairulla expressed gratitude to the mayor for the variety of projects implemented in their barangay adding that it will redound to the benefit of the constituents in the area.
At the Tictapul National High School, the mayor in his speech, committed to construct a covered court for the barangay that will add up to the list of projects given to the village.
From Tictapul, the mayor and delegation proceeded to barangay Licomo, the city’s boundary to Zamboanga Sibugay, where he turned over 3 projects amounting to P5.8 million.
Licomo chairman Wendel Bondaon and his councilmen expressed gratitude to the mayor and the city government for giving the needed attention to the area. The projects turned over included the farm to market road at Texas-Sinoropan costing P1.4 million; improvement of farm to market road at Licomo-Sinoropan worth P1.6 million and a covered court worth P2.8 million.
The three projects turned over to Licomo, according to Lobregat, were only part of the 20 project implemented and about to be implemented in the barangay starting 2007 to 2009.
“All these are being done because the barangays are our priority”, the mayor emphasized. He said the projects being implemented in the villages are purposely to help improve services to the people.
