Celso unveils 5 projects in Pasonanca

Mayor Celso Lobregat will lead the unveiling of five (5) infrastructure projects in barangay Pasonanca today, October 16, as part of the post-Fiesta activities and still in line with the city government’s massive infrastructure program.

Topping the list of projects to be unveiled today is the P4.6 million barangay hall with a health center facility. Designed like a mini-City Hall, the barangay hall is located adjacent to the old building.

Other projects to be inaugurated are the construction of drainage system at the Toriven Drive worth P458, 578; construction of drainage system (box type) at the Summer Hills Subdivision worth P909,446; construction of drainage system at Lantawan, Upper Pasonanca costing P499,162 and the concreting of road leading to the barangay hall worth P495,472.

The five projects to be turned over today form part of the city funding for Fiscal Year 2009. The budget for projects in Pasonanca alone for 2009 reaches a total of P19.3 million.

Aside from the completed projects, five other projects are on going amounting to P3.09 million. One project has been bidded out recently while 3 other projects worth P1.14 million are set to be submitted for bidding.

In 2008, Pasonanca received a total of P10.7 million worth of projects that included farm to market roads, rehabilitation of hanging bridges, construction of children’s playground at the Pasonanca Elementary School, development of parks and gardens, construction of drainage system, covered court, rehabilitation of school building, rehabilitation of the tree house at the Pasonanca park and the construction of slope protection.

In 2007, some P22 million worth of projects were allocated by the city for barangay Pasonanca and these included the construction of drainage systems, construction of bridge approach, improvement of farm to market road, concreting of road, construction of sidewalk, plant nursery, construction of museum at the Jardin Maria Clara at the Pasonanca Park, rehabilitation of drug rehabilitation and development of parks and gardens among others.

Members of the City Council, Pasonanca barangay officials led by Efigenio Julian Jr. including and other officials are expected to attend the event today.

Julian has expressed gratitude to the city government for the endless projects being implemented in his barangay, renowned as a premier barangay of the city. (Sheila Covarrubias)
