Lobregat leads city workers in ‘Hataw’
Mayor Celso Lobregat on Friday led city government officials and employees in ‘Hataw’, a physical fitness program, kicking off the 109th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration in Zamboanga.
Held at the scenic Paseo del Mar, the newest attraction in Zamboanga near Fort Pilar, the Hataw program was participated by hundreds of city and national government workers and was a joint program of the city government and the Civil Service Commission-9 under Dir. Macybel Alfaro-Sahi.
Mayor Lobregat during the program that followed the physical fitness program, was presented with the Most Outstanding City Mayor Award, a recognition conferred by the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc., for satisfactory implementation of social welfare programs.
City Social Welfare Officer Francisco Barredo presented the award to Mayor Lobregat.
Mayor Lobregat in his message called on all city and national government workers to stay committed and dedicated to their mandated tasks.
In the same program, Dir. Sahi presented Mayor Lobregat with a plaque of appreciation for invaluable service.
The 109th celebration of Philippine Civil Service is themed “Honoring our Heroes in REPUBLIC SERVICE — Responsive, Ethical Public Servants with Vision, Impact, Commitment and Excellence.” and aims to recognize public servants with exemplary performances directed to quality and productive services to the public.
The celebration this year highlights the patriotism, integrity, excellence and sacrifices of our heroes in service to the public and republic.
Also present during the Hataw at the Paseo del Mar were Councilor Nonong Guingona, city department heads and other city officials and employees and representatives from the different national government agencies.
The CSC, city government and other national government agencies have lined up other activities in celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this September. (Sheila Covarrubias)
