Lobregat turns over radio equipment to COMMEL

Continuously pursuing his support and assistance to the local police, Mayor Celso Lobregat on Thursday turned over radio communications equipment worth over
P200,000 to the Regional Communication Electronic Office (COMMEL) Regional Office.

The radio communications equipment included a repeater facility, antenna, handheld radio sets and other gadgets intended to form part of the COMMEL’s Tactical Network Communication Plan.

Mayor Lobregat personally turned over the facilities to COMMEL-9 Chief
P/Supt. Lycias Arpon who expressed appreciation to the chief executive for the donations saying it would be a very big help to the police in improving communication traffic.

Lobregat said the repeater, with an ultra high frequency (UHF) will be installed at the government property in Dulian, Upper Pasonanca.

The chief executive promised to continuously support the needs of the COMMEL by providing for other necessary equipment or facilities in the future.

The COMMEL is the office in charge of radio communication system of the police in the region. It is located at the Regional Police headquarters in R.T. Lim Boulevard.

The radio communication equipment is only one of the latest assistance extended by the city government under the Lobregat administration to the police.

The mayor believes that the police require all the necessary support in order to be efficient and effective in its mandate to maintain peace and security in the city and the neighboring areas.

The city’s assistance to the police comes in the form of construction of police stations, transportation facilities, gasoline support, cash allowance and many more. (Shiela Covarrubias)
