The Guiwan Bus Terminal is the station for buses from and to major cities in Mindanao. One can reach Zamboanga by bus from Dipolog, Pagadian, Ozamis, Iligan and Cagayan de Oro. On the other hand, Zamboanga can be the jump-off point to these cities. Rural transit is the main bus line that runs up the west side of Mindanao. You can choose from aircon and non-aircon buses. Passenger vans are also available for trips to Dakak Beach in Dapitan. Travel time may take several hours with occasional stops along the way but the road is well paved so the trip is not jarring. Traveling to Zamboanga by bus from Luzon and Visayas is also possible via the Nautical (RoRo) Highway. The bus terminal is 2 kms to the east from the city proper.
