If you are after some good shopping, Zamboanga is famous for its barter trade markets which are shopping havens for imported items from the U.S., China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, or Thailand. If you prefer some air-conditioned comfort while shopping, head for the malls and shopping centers with their branded boutiques and specialty shops. Zamboanga Barter Trade Market

There are four barter trade markets in the city where one may shop for imported items mostly from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. The markets include the Canelar Market, the BCC Shopping Complex in Baliwasan, the Sta. Cruz Market and the Valderrosa St. Market.  

Yakan Weaving Village

Weaving center of the unique Yakan cloth, hand woven by the Yakans, original inhabitants of nearby island Basilan and among the finest weavers of the country. The village also sells brassware, antiques, traditional Muslim swords, wood carvings, pottery, ceramics and shell trinkets. It is 7...
